There are so many people and things to be grateful for and as I reflect on a few of them this morning of Thanksgiving, I’m reminded to close my eyes, open my ears and listen. What do I hear?
WNCW radio playing a host of wonderful music to cook by, laugh at, sing to and dance while twirling around in the kitchen
My husband’s whisper of gratitude for me in his life
God’s whisper I love you and my response, I love you too!
Now, to open my eyes – the sun is shining amid the bare branches with a few leaves waiting for that strong breeze to lay them to rest on the ground below
An amazing blue sky that reaches to the heavens
The ground below my feet, wiggling of my toes
The beat of a drum
The smell of sweet potatoes baking in the oven soon, to be turned into an amazing sweet potato pie
Cornbread cooked last night in preparation for baked cornbread dressing and perhaps Spfe-his – a Lebanese hors d’oeuvres of lamb, cinnamon, pine nuts and more
My body swaying to the rhythm of the drum
Endless possibilities
Mountain vistas and sunsets
Memories of a moment captured for a Mom’s hug
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Love, Anita
