tears
full of emotions
radiating love
a joyful child
sadness lives deep within this wounded body
patient with those around me
impatient with political climate and a mind healing too slow
prayerful of all on my prayer list and beyond
grateful for my home, husband, mountains, trees, children and grandson, friends and confidants
artistic on paper with paint and glue stick
joyous with anticipation of songs to be sung and songs to be heard
hesitant with BIG decisions
longing for more travel, creative flow, words of wisdom
blood, veins and bones
a body with Heart and Soul

… picked up a phone and wanted to call God?
God answers in varying ways. Not always in direct sentences, mostly, in quiet, subtle ways.
Looking back over my 50+ years, I know I’ve been protected from much harm – it’s a miracle that I am still here.
That’s God answering my prayers for guidance, healing and protection.
God whispers just believe!
That’s all that’s required from me.
Once again, I let go and breathe a sigh, and remind myself that my time is not over yet . . . just believe.

life exists
hidden
truths, lies, denial, laughter, love, balance and so much more
behind the veil, once lifted, one can not return to what was – only to accept what is

Years ago, I traveled with my son, age four to Austin Texas in a 3 on the column chocolate brown with white camper GMC Truck and no A/C. We would drive 8 hours then stop at a La Quinta for the night, rested, eat, and drive another for a period of three 8 hour legs. We finally arrived in Austin and visited a head shop during that time called Oat Willies. They had a bumper sticker which I later attached to my truck that read Onward through the Fog.
On foggy mornings, like the one we’re having today, those words come to mind with a different meaning.
Leaving you with the same excitation: Onward through the Fog!

Pack a bag with all that I desire for myself and loved ones in the year that follows – a tradition I’ve been celebrating for over 20 years
Red underwear for a year of romance and passion says the Italians
Yellow underwear for health claim the CostaRicans
Mix and match I say
Writing a list of desires and packing them in a bag to walk out into the New Year at the stroke of mid-night with a prayer – an intention in my heart for myself and others packed neatly and carried by my side
A sparkler or popper, firework or two with a piece of dark chocolate and a sip of something sparkling to clink as my love and I greet and love our way into a New Year
2020 – 60 awaits me, I’m half way there – hopefully, healthier and wiser – living my dreams instead of just dreaming them
traveling wherever we would like to go with enough to sustain us and share as we go
Happy New Year one and all!

There are so many people and things to be grateful for and as I reflect on a few of them this morning of Thanksgiving, I’m reminded to close my eyes, open my ears and listen. What do I hear?
WNCW radio playing a host of wonderful music to cook by, laugh at, sing to and dance while twirling around in the kitchen
My husband’s whisper of gratitude for me in his life
God’s whisper I love you and my response, I love you too!
Now, to open my eyes – the sun is shining amid the bare branches with a few leaves waiting for that strong breeze to lay them to rest on the ground below
An amazing blue sky that reaches to the heavens
The ground below my feet, wiggling of my toes
The beat of a drum
The smell of sweet potatoes baking in the oven soon, to be turned into an amazing sweet potato pie
Cornbread cooked last night in preparation for baked cornbread dressing and perhaps Spfe-his – a Lebanese hors d’oeuvres of lamb, cinnamon, pine nuts and more
My body swaying to the rhythm of the drum
Endless possibilities
Mountain vistas and sunsets
Memories of a moment captured for a Mom’s hug
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Love, Anita

Thunder rumbles
a noise unheard for more months than I care to remember
Clouds thicken
soon raindrops will fall from the Heavens
the dry, cracked earth below beckons fill me up
