a time for personal reflection, when the morning light is dim, crickets are all I hear, until the wind begins, once the sunlight appears, colours come to life again….

it’ s October, and I’m wearing sandals and short sleeves…
Where’s the wind…
the door’s wide open and there’s no breeze
Where’s the wind….
the trees are asking and so are the leaves…
Where’s the wind…
she asks to lull me to sleep on a warm October’s eve
Silencio…listen…
… crickets and the rumbling of the dishwasher must do

Don’t worry about …
the hand me downs worn until too tight
or the education they never believed you deserved
Don’t worry about …
the acknowledgement of any of your achievements you never received
or the way you were told to stay in your room until a month had passed
you’re free now — you’re the only one holding yourself back
You are free now …
to do as you please
to live your dream
to fly above the clouds
to shine your light so bright
to believe in the person you are and always were meant to be
trust God who knows all and remember to quit holding on so tightly.

September moon shone brightly upon the lawn
tiptoeing outside in the evening dew
one ginormous Moon flower blossom beams bright white as it greets the night for a one night show
oh what a beautiful sight…
…soft, luxurious, delicate, velvety blossom – divided by soft lines of gold nectar to reveal a starfish hidden within
its debut – always unknown – like a babe born into this world
yet, the Moon flower’s purpose is to razzle dazzle like a magician – and put on a show – and a show it did put on – shining brightly through the night
thank you Moon Flower – until we meet again – good night!

where does love go when the light goes out
a question to ponder
the answer, I believe is under the covers
faith steps in and out
a dance, a rhythm of breath and sound
where does love go when the lights go out
love is always present
just whisper and listen
I’m here under the covers

it’s been eleven years since we said i do
eleven years of adventure, challenges, laughter, travels, heartache, grief, courage, friendship, adapting to one another’s schedules
my love for you continues to expand
my gratitude for you grows like the pines that flank our property and the marigolds blooming in mid-August
love, ever grateful for you
happy #11 ~ love, me

The mourning dove sings in late July – the air thick with humidity as the waterfall gurgles
a song she sings sounds like an announcement that summer days will soon end, and school begin
cobwebs form in windowsills and high up in the doorway where spiders await an evening meal
the sweetness of the Dove’s call reminds one to take stock of what we have, to be fully present, in the here and now, eyes open, ears too – look around and breathe in and breathe – listen out loud
birds clamor to join her – Cardinals, Blue Jays, Finches, Frog – All are present for the Dove’s roll call

fragrant
thick with honeysuckle and roses
fireflies and other flying things
dreams of tomorrows
or playing in a stream
treasures abound
red one, yellow, diamond or gem
water glistening with jewels
waiting to be discovered
uncovered
explored and adored
summertime serenade
flowing dresses, sandals and sun-kissed lemonade
mint, lavender, sage and basil
fragrances rich and thick as fresh laundry blowing on the line
take your pick
flowers or spices
these are mine
a bouquet of honeysuckle, lavender, mint, basil, rosemary and sage – in the center, a single pink rose
a summertime bouquet

via When love calls…
how to answer… with abandon … with caution… with heart wide open… love loves... hurts have torn me to the bone… cored my heart out like one cores out an apple, made me bleed tears and shook me like a coconut tree, left me on a road alone, abandoned with no one to call, feeling naked and afraid,
love calls … like the warmth of the sun when you least expect it, standing alone on the beach, feet in the sand, treasures abound… the sound of pure love… unmistakable… it’s more than a sound.. it’s an unexpected encounter with another,
love calls … and our love is ignited, visible only to us and others who share a deep connection to heart love, a permeable light fills our hearts, mends any residual damage, restores us to a state of wholeness, and sets our hearts ablaze with a light so bright…it glows and knows without words, that we exist…the ones that love…the ones who believe…the ones who have grieved losses… that love conquers and prevails all trials and tribulations … our hearts opens wide, and what’s left is love’s light…

Love Light like stars twinkling in the sand
