Still here

in stillness I sit

bluebird comes to the bath outside my window

beautiful is she

daffodils are blooming on the bank and it’s February

pond is flowing with the sounds of trickle trickle

pines stand tall at the top of the hill, firmly rooted

Still here Still here

Life and all that’s in it isStill here

Here comes my love

the one the only

the one who listens

the one who walks with me day and night

the Whisperer

the constant one who assures me that all is well always

grateful am I to know you

grateful am I that you want to know me

grateful am I when I remember that any question or request uttered doesn’t go unheard

you hear all things

by hearing and answering all things, my Faith grows stronger

and I am reminded of a journey taken long ago in a country far away

where the one word uttered to me as I boarded a plane to return home

was BELIEVE!

I believe, and as the prayer or psalmist reminds us, help us when we forget to.

Hearts Speak – Surrender 7122021 Anita Adams

Life in the year of COVID

a simple question has rested on my desk for a year or more –

it reads Where am I headed? – a great question. These are my reflections today….

Where am I headed?

Hours turn into days

days into weeks

weeks into months

time, tasks, memories and dreams are all that are left

an invisible bag of dreams

photographic and emotional memories

with no where to go, no where to run – except to God

Trail at Max Patch ~ Anita of NC Trees Photography.com

as I stand at the foot of the mountain or a day of enormous work demands- before I climb – I pause, take a deep breath and pray to the Divine – ‘Guide me – I do not know where or what you want of me – Guide me’

exercising my body and mind – I follow a schedule and take each moment as it comes…

…. when moments of laughter or joy surface – I give in and embrace these as a miracle

when tears fall, I let them flow

at the end of the day, I see that I made it through another day – unscathed, stronger or softer, more open than closed, more grateful than not – perhaps, the answer to the question: Where am I headed? is this – Awareness and Gratitude for all the Blessings seen and felt.

Peace to you on your Journey of Life.

Week 1 – Wake up Call

Love and life in the time of Cornona

When days and nights come to a halt

Shelves at the Grocery Stores are half empty

Restaurants are Closed

Restrictions on how close we can be to one another – 6 feet apart

An Invisible Virus kills thousands within months

Schools and Jobs are closed

Underneath this though is the Robin outside my office window looking for nest building material and eating his morning worms

Flowers bloom on the Cherry Tree

And Daffodils and Forsythia burst into a variety of shades of Gold, Yellow and Orange

Goldfish swim happily in the pond and the Frogs return

The grass is green and covered with dew

The sky looks bluer and the clouds are ever changing

Peace be still reads a sign I’ve noticed often outside of a small church on my way to work

When the very, very small things become noticeable – even the ant walking across the pavement makes me smile and remember being a child in awe and wonder

Playing scrabble with my husband and night becomes a time of anticipated joy

Knowing that my children are safe and checking on neighbors and friends from all over the world there is time for.

Love is returning. The earth is breathing again.

As week 1 passes, faith and prayer grow stronger along with gratitude and a deeper sense of global community. – We are all One!

#Dreams #Passions #SelfLove

Quote shared: Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars.to change the world. — Harriett Tubman

I’m full of dreams, passions, compassion and art. Self-love, I’m only beginning to understand how necessary it is to fully love self in order to bring those dreams to fruition. As Harriett Tubman so beautifully states, Every dream begins with a dreamer.

All Dreams are Possible. One must just begin!

August Anniversary

it’s been eleven years since we said i do

eleven years of adventure, challenges, laughter, travels, heartache, grief, courage, friendship, adapting to one another’s schedules

my love for you continues to expand

my gratitude for you grows like the pines that flank our property and the marigolds blooming in mid-August

10th Anniversary Wedding Day 8182017

Morning Song

a bird’s call

i love mornings when the birds call

what are they saying – ‘there’s new food in the feeders’

‘it’s not raining, come quickeat while you can before the squirrels feast on these delicious sunflower seeds’

or are they announcing the dawn of a new day and just saying ‘good morning’

i love their songs, they bring a smile to my heart and urge me to rise and greet them as the darkness dissipates and turns gradually into day.

Love

can be …Mom Hug Betty and Steve 2015

euphoria,

longingness, belonging,

physical, heart centered,

familial, natural,

joyous, sad,

bearable, unbearable,

heard, understood,

misunderstood, raw,

vulnerable, tender,

truthful, hurtful,

void, empty,

here and gone,

a hug or a smile through another’s eyes,

I believe it will ALWAYS come back to where it belongs – your heart – my heart – our souls – our homes.
