A Spring Rain falls from the clouds above

landing softly with a trickle-trickle sound as it travels through the downspout to the ground

Birds perched in the trees, chirp and rejoice as mother earth also welcomes the fresh water to nourish her parched parts beneath the lush green grass.

A Rain Day I’ll take it

We didn’t have snow days this winter not even one, the first ever in my 50+ years of living the Appalachian Mountains, this will have to do.

And I, like the birds, grass and trees, welcome the sounds with open ears and an open heart to be still and listen.

There’s an expression I’ve heard or read: “Wherever you find yourself, therein be content.”

Today I have found myself in my little corner room, window open to hear and enjoy the sounds from the rain and birds and experience the wind as it gently blows across my cheek.

In this moment, I find myself content.

Rain Circles and Pink Water Lily

Step Softly

Step Softly

Upon the grass

Over the rocks

Around the flowers

Spring is here

Small blooms appear in the most obscure places.

Take care to notice their presence.

Step Softly

Holy Week

is a time for walking with friends

for remembering the One(s) who gave their lives for us and asked only this– BELIEVE

Spring has sprung and with it the birds and their songs

New leaves on the Maple Tree

Forsythia, Daffodils, Tulips, Trillium, Bloodroot, Violets, Trout Lillys and so much more

Step softly

Listen

Nature in all her forms is celebrating their birthday

And we are gifted another breath and wonder

Step softly

Year End Reflections and….

a look back on 2021

A year of loss

A year where a Leap of Faith was taken into the unknown

A year of Trusting the God of my understanding, the Divine, Jesus, the Mystery, the Whisperer

Creating Art

Letting Love in

Trusting that ALL is well and ALWAYS will be in God’s time and in God’s way

Choosing Gratitude for the gifts given and the ones shared

God thank you for the Serenity to accept those things/people/situations I can not change

God thank you for the Courage to change those things/situations that I can

God thank you for the Wisdom to know the difference

Wishing you all a year of focusing on what you have, sharing what you can, good health, good food, good choices, peace of mind, body and soul.

Forestbathing in Western North Carolina

Sounds and Sights of Spring

Bluejays, cardinals, mockingbirds, bluebirds, finches, doves and crows grace the backyard oasis on the first day of spring.

Blooming yellow forsythia and a bank of periwinkle with a Lenten rose in full bloom surround the waterfall as the goldfish swim in the pond below.

Grateful for ears that hear and eyes that see.

Grateful for Spring and all that spring brings.

Moon Flower

Signed - Moon Flower

September moon shone brightly upon the lawn

tiptoeing outside in the evening dew

one ginormous Moon flower blossom beams bright white as it greets the night for a one night show

oh what a beautiful sight…

…soft, luxurious, delicate, velvety blossom – divided by soft lines of gold nectar to reveal a starfish hidden within

its debut – always unknown – like a babe born into this world

yet, the Moon flower’s purpose is to razzle dazzle like a magician – and put on a show – and a show it did put on – shining brightly through the night

thank you Moon Flower – until we meet again – good night!
